How It Works

The converter splits your text into grapheme clusters and detects which ones are emoji. Each emoji is normalized (removing skin-tone and variation modifiers) and looked up in a built-in dictionary of common descriptions. Non-emoji text is left untouched.

• Replacement Format: choose how descriptions are wrapped, e.g. :red heart: or [red heart].
• Unknown Emoji: for emojis not in the dictionary, show a generic emoji label, the raw Unicode code point, or keep the original character.
• Breakdown: a table lists every emoji found, its description, code point, and how many times it appeared.
